About This File

The Dalek design which first appeared in 'Dalek' in 2005 Also known as the 'New Series Dalek Plans', this booklet was developed after extensive research and access to original screen-used props by Project Dalek Forum members.

Additional notes and comments have been included to help you along with your build. The plans also include dimensions for the 'cutting claw' attachment, as seen in The Parting Of The Ways.

I'm in my 50s and have since I was a boy watching Dr Who in the 70s always dreamed of making a Dalek for fun, now I have the time and resources, along with your forum's help it's time to live that dream.

I have watched some of the members videos,  and I am very impressed with what I have seen.

Long live the Who verse.

I will document my progress and share any innovations I make

These plans seem to be very concise and detailed. Hopefully, there shouldn't be any problems making the Dalek now.........

Ah! My favourite Dalek design.

This is a good improvement over the version I had been using before 4.1, I used to be here before, many moons ago.

I especially like the improved views of the eye, plunger and other "body parts". This will make my 3D modelling a lot easier 😃

Started building my NSD quite a while ago now but sadly time and circumstances meant that it never got finished and sadly what had beeen built was thrown away.
I now live in a smaller house with sadly no room for a full scale Dalek but thought I would try building it as a 3D inventor model instead.

Fantastic, i was not aware of how many different Daleks there are, the selection of plans is just amazing, once I get thru the plan that suits my skills I will definitely post my progress and hopefully get some feedback to see if I am doing it right. The whole Dalek Project is just awesome, a huge thank you to all those who made this possible.

Found the plans to be fantastic and the updates over ver 4.7.2 to be invaluable.

The only part I found to be lacking is the detail of the cutting claw.

Good. But Atleast tell us the materials used.

Response from the author:

I think you're mixing up what plans are with what build theory is. The rest of the Forum (and the Workshop Manual) cover options for materials and construction/assembly techniques. Those resources are meant to be used in conjunction with the measurements shown in the plans.

Planning to make this in my school. Liked the older designs more but most people know the 2005+ Dalek nowadays :L

It's amazing how much detail is in these manuals - I can't yet decide which Dalek version I'm going to build, certainly I think I'm going to motorise/computer control it :)

Many thanks to all involved in this wonderful site. I have always wanted to have a go at building a Dalek but had no real idea where to start or materials required. What a wealth of information here at Project Dalek.

Look forward to purchasing the Builders Workshop Manual shortly.

This goes into loads of detail about exactly how big each part should be. If I weren't WAY TOO LAZY to follow it precisely, my Dalek costume would look exactly like the ones they use at BBC. The amount of detail is great if you have a lot of time on your hands, but it's also good for getting a general idea of what your Dalek should look like if you prefer to "freestyle".

I don't know if its just me but every file i download is unreadable no matter what i do

Response from the author:

Make sure you save the file rather than it opening in a browser window. You'll need a PDF viewer to open the file, such as Acrobat Reader or Foxit Reader, etc.
