Thanks i was well pleased until i moved him a while later and i knocked the remote when i picked it up and it jumped forward and the bloody dome /neckbin slid off the shoulders needless to say i have a bit of repairing to do.Lesson 2 learned don,t move the thing until it,s all fassend down properly,but i was just too keen to show off to my grandson.The awkward thing is I can,t fix it totally because it has to be dissembled to take it back indoors.All good fun i suppose Cheers brian

Hi folks i have eventually found the fault with my mk5 board.i did not have continuaty between the 2 red led,s,it seems there was a break in the track but nothing noticable to the eye so i just shunted across and hey presto it works a treat .i tried to record the modulation which i think is fine it just needs a little bit of practice to loose its geordie accent haha but over the moon its working hoping to put a sample on tommorow evening thanks for all your help I realy appreciate it cheers ..Brian

Hi all things seem to check out regarding voltages you have mentioned,i have checked the joints and they seem ok apart from my amature soldering tech i have included a phone pic of the top of the board not sure if this helps.I was looking for the classic dalek voise so used 2 4k7 resistors as r11 r12 cheers Brian
  10. Thanks folks i have had a look and there seemed to be a short on one of the resisters which i have sorted and the red led2 is now lighting but nothing from red1 ?
  11. Hi Trackhappy thanks for your advice i have set the trimmers around midway and just checked and yes i do have around 12volts on all three vcc pins so any other checkpoints please ?

Hi again it,s time to share my troubles ..this time its my finished pdf mk5,well finished as such as its not yet connected to the alloy box ..The thing is its all soldered up and i applyed the voltage after setting the 3 pots in mid range and looked for the red leds to work, well as the manual says i twiddled around with pot 14 laft and right very slowly but nothing so thats as far as i am at the moment so any electronic geniuses out there able to tell me where to go next ie voltage check points or whatever .I humbly await any help available cheers Brian now in limbo lol

Hi everyone i haven,t done much lately on Alan due to ill health .I,m feeling a tad better now and want to finish my modulator which is all soldered up and ready to fit into its box .Has anyone any ideas as to what is an ideal mic for the modulator i know itr states a electret type but not sure which ones are electret I have pc gaming types etc but not sure if it would do any links on ebay or advice please iv,e hunted the forum for ideas but am at a loss cheers ..brian
