Just been doing a final couple of tweaks to certain items. One thing I found annoying was every time I raised the hinged top section, the dome would swing round to the side if I had forgotten to already turn it. To remedy this I made a sprung loaded catch that can be operated to lock the dome. In the off position it still allows the dome to turn freely. I made it using a few bits of alloy tube with a sprung loaded rod through the centre. This was fitted to the neck bin. When operated the rod locates into the dome base locking it in the central forward position. It was made using a similar method to the dome / eye control lever. The larger outer section slides up and down the inner section. I cut a 45 degree angle on the bottom of both alloy tubes but only on half of the diameters. The outer tube connects to the sprung loaded central rod. By twisting the outer tube 180 degrees, the rod is moved upwards due to the 2 angles cut on the tubes. I've tried to show this in the first two pictures and the video. Another job I did was to remove the fixed hinge pins. I made 2 new pins out of a piece of bronze rod I had. The first set I made were straight, but turned out to be a complete pain in the arse to fit, so I made another set but this time I made them with an L/shape on one end. This method made it easy to locate the pins in the hinges. Just wish I thought of that first !   As you can see in the picture, I used some electrical wire and a couple of electrical connections so I could connect the pins to the upper skirt body. Doing this will hopefully prevent the chance of losing the pins  when the top sections are removed. Whilst I was at it, I cut the electrical wires that ran between the skirt and the shoulder section and fitted a multi plug, so now the removal of the top sections is easy and straight forward.  One other job I did was to secure the collar fixing nuts to the inside of the shoulders. I used some P40 fibreglass filler over the nuts. This now makes the task of removing the collars easy for any necessary future repair work. The collars can be removed complete with the slats and mesh fitted. So much easier.

Just saw this on your Instagram, as mentioned there this is superb work! You've combined the TV21 design & the 60s Movie design very nicely. You've put my 60s movie Dalek Emperor to shame, if you don't mind me saying! 😅 Impeccable work though, really superb!

@Andrew Harvey A new Weetabix Dalek render, well I'll have to now won't I? haha!   ... Today's render... I've not done a proper TV21 Dalek Emperor in quite awhile now, so here's my take on a proper Peter Cushing 2150AD Movie style edition. Particularly happy with the new fender, which has the authentic movie style curvature applied, its a small detail mainly for the proper enthusiasts to notice, other details was adding new grills to the neck to make it feel a bit more prop-y and I did consider some look through vents but none really worked for my taste. Of course some new slats have been added too, usually quite against slats for this style of Dalek but I thought this balanced out quite well. Enjoy!
