Goon X Plans
By John
Goon X is a theoretical Goon prop created specifically for these plans. It takes all the elements which make the Goons what they are and refines them down into one set of designs. While Goon X doesn't look exactly like any specific Goon prop, it is representative of them all.
The plans provide an alternative to building in the well-established and more-refined Shawcraft style and include choices for sections such as the skirt and the gun/arm boxes.
Please take time to carefully read the introduction on page 3. This gives a full explanation of what the plans represent.

The Special Weapons Dalek Plans
By John
Plans for the Special Weapons Dalek (also known by the acronym SWD or as the Gunner Dalek) as first featured in the story Remembrance of the Daleks in October 1988.
Please note that the prop featured in the New Series Capaldi episodes was not the original. It was a modern build constructed by the officially licensed Dalek suppliers, ‘This Planet Earth’ and hired out to the BBC by a third party. This prop is slightly different from the original and given that it is only seen in a cameo role, we are discounting it here. The plans dimensions all relate to the original 1988 Special Weapons Dalek prop.
This 20 page booklet also includes an introduction containing a potted history of how this prop developed from concept into reality.
These plans are also available to buy as a full colour printed booklet. Click here for details.

Motorisation Guide (Sabertooth 2x32A)
By John
This manual details how to motorise your Dalek using a power wheelchair base with a Sabertooth 2X32A controller and standard model radio control set.
A common request is for information on how to turn your prize Dalek in to a fully remote controlled version. There are several ways to achieve this aim and this document describes one of them that is proven to work reasonably well. This is not the low budget version, but if you want a successful version and don’t have the skills or time to experiment, this is one way to achieve it.
It assumes using a donor power wheelchair and relies upon the mixing function of the specified Sabertooth motor controller to have “tank-like” steering, where one wheel differentially slows or speeds up to force a turn.
Note that a 'DEScribe' config file is required to finish the setup. Details of how to make this file are included, but you can also download it from here.
This guide is also available to buy as a full colour printed booklet. Click here for details.

The Legacy Shawcraft Mark 1, 2 & 3 Dalek Plans
By John
The new (version 3) plans booklets should be used by those who wish to attain the highest degree of accuracy, when replicating the Daleks from the 1960s. However, because the (Version 2) plans in this booklet were used to build Daleks that appeared on TV after the show returned in 2005, they are now, effectively, the definitive blueprint for some of the classic Daleks from ‘Asylum of the Daleks’ and ‘The Witch’s Familiar’ etc. With this in mind, these plans have been retained as a legacy version, preserving the dimensions that were used for so many years, to build so many great Daleks. If you wish to build a classic Dalek as featured in the post 2005 show, then these are the plans you should use.
If you intend to use these plans to build a Dalek, please post a Build Diary of your progress on the Forum. Taking them without giving back to the community is considered very rude.

2005 Dalek CAD files and Engineering Drawings
By John
Not a booklet but a ZIP file containing the collected engineering works by Project Dalek member Phil McNulty. The ZIP features drawings in Adobe Portable Document format, outlining some of the more regularly shaped New Series (Time War) Dalek components, which benefit from being presented in an engineering context. Also included is a set of DXF files, which most CAD applications can use. These are aimed at builders who have access to (and experience of) CAD and CNC systems

I'm in my 50s and have since I was a boy watching Dr Who in the 70s always dreamed of making a Dalek for fun, now I have the time and resources, along with your forum's help it's time to live that dream.
I have watched some of the members videos, and I am very impressed with what I have seen.
Long live the Who verse.
I will document my progress and share any innovations I make

Great set of models that printed and fitted together really easily. Can't comment on accuracy as I'm no expert but very happy with the result

Great plan but the pivot does not print as it is not complete like the eye stalk

These plans seem to be very concise and detailed. Hopefully, there shouldn't be any problems making the Dalek now.........
