About This File

Here is my take on the movie Dalek as it appeared in the 1960s film "Dr Who and the Daleks". Included are the original blend file (set up for the new Cycles render engine) as well as an obj file. You may use this model in whatever renders you wish, but please remember to credit me. Please do not redistribute or sell.

Amazing, I've just installed Blender and had a play - great model you've made, and a great piece of software too.

Is there a way to manipulate the dome, eye, gun and claw arm? (Total use of Blender = 3 minutes so far)

Thanks, Scott.

You can move the limbs and turn the entire model by moving a series of cubes that are in front o the model. The arm can be extended by moving the body of the claw. The claw can be opened and closed by moving the middle tube of the arm. The basic keyboard shortcuts that you need to know are left click to move the world center thing, right click to select, click and drag the scroll wheel to orbit around the model, scroll up and down to zoom in and out, "a" to deselect/ select all, "g" to move, "r" to rotate. To get acquainted with the software, I really do suggest looking up some tutorials, like Stek's NSD building tutorial that got me started.
