About This File

Updated, more optimised, Imperial Dalek model. Updated for the latest version of Blender (3.0). Textures, as always, made using Substance painter.

Released

Fixed shading issue. Changed displacement midlevel to 0 (was previously 0.5, causing errors in eevee).

@GawkyDevotee86could you post an image of the problem you're having? You posted a render back in may that seemed to be working fine. Did you download it again since then?

well this is a propble i was having

it seems its something to do with the displacement

as if i take it off it fix's its self this also happens with your nsd supreme

The problem should be fixed now. It turns out that I had the displacement set up wrong. The default displacement node has a midlevel of .5, when it should be set to 0. There's no texture applied to displacement anyway, so you could leave it disconnected, to save from having to download again. Either that or you could open my principled node group setup and change to setting on the displacement node.

I think the reason why it's showing up now is that previously, the Eevee render engine ignored displacement, but the new versions of Blender have changed that. I think I will be making note of which Blender version the file was made for, just in case.

Hello there @WhosWho

 

Being a fan of the Imperials I just wanted to comment on the wonderful textured and lit preview images. I very much like the creamy lighting, combined with the chromatic aberration and soft focus at the edges 🤩
