About This File

A beta release of plans for the 2010, New Dalek Paradigm (NDP) design. Although this Dalek variant is widely regarded as unpopular, these plans are a long awaited addition to the Project Dalek downloads library. Most of the dimensions are derived from a computer generated model, which has been through a very long period of development.

The starting point was the hemisphere size, which was known for definite. The sizes for (just about) all of the other parts were derived using the hemisphere as a starting point.

These plans are also available to buy as a full colour printed booklet. Click here for details.

Not bad plans, but there are still flaws. I hope for the full version. Really looking forward!)

@Aaron J Climas  I am making a 3D model of this version of dalek and noticed some discrepancies when comparing with photos of the original prop. For example, a plunger seems to have a smaller diameter (I think there should be about 14 cm). The skirt is slightly taller (about 4 cm above the original). And the shoulders in front protrude further from the skirt. So far this is what I noticed.

@Aaron J Climas Know it's a little late, but I was making a 3D model of the shoulders, and I noticed the shoulders didn't compensate for the 35 mm in the gap. The 208mm should be somewhere in the ballpark of 243mm, give or take a millimeter.

Hi Exterminate! I'll look into it for you. I joined up after these plans were put together, so I've not actually made a set myself. But I'll do some digging and look into it for you.

I have found some plans that I can download and many others that say I am unable to download as I am not an active member just a Forum member and I live in Australia as a retired veteran who along with another veteran are working with schoolchildren to open their minds away from video games and mobile phones and learn old skills familiar to us older generations so this information was to educate them on making something with their own hands with assistance from experienced military trained avionics technicians with the knowledge to pass on.  As we are on veterans pensions, we cannot afford to spend heaps of money to obtain a variety of plans to work with and would like to share all this with younger generations interested in robotics and other stuff.  These could have them actively engrossed in people powered as well as robotics and radio controlled using various forms of motorisation, hence my desire for motorisation guide download.

Is there a list of what we can obtain for our projects that would not mean us blowing our budgets and pensions or even some assistance from your group?

Thanks for your time,

Kel Davey JP

RAAF Veteran Australia.

An Active Membership subscription is £5 for one year and gives you access to all plans, downloads and other resources for that time, for that one payment. There is also a subscription option which gives 24 hour access to downloads for just £1. This is intended to help those on a very tight budget.

We have the subscription system in place in order to provide additional, exclusive content to those members who are kind enough to help support the Forum and associated websites. The combined cost of multiple domain registrations, website hosting, cloud file storage, software licensing and technical support makes Project Dalek an expensive place to maintain.

Subscribing members help out with these costs by being kind enough to chip-in. We hope that they feel that their £5 is well spent, given that the information in our resources will most likely save them much more than that amount, in avoided mistakes, saved materials etc.

What you're doing, to instil practical skills in the younger generations is really amazing work. We are more than happy to help support you in this mission. Please drop me a private message about this.

Good luck with everything that you're doing. It would be great to see your project(s) featured on the Forum in a build diary, once everything in underway. :)
