About This File

This file was produced by Mr_Tesla, and can also be found on Thingverse. He has included the rights for anyone to use this file in any manner they deem fit. I have used this as a possible replacement for dreadnaughts eye and also as a display booth piece acting as a Dalek Periscope as seen on Asylum of the Daleks

The last one of these I printed I made the size at 140mm thinking with the size of Dreadnaught I would like a bigger one. However it was just too big and out of proportion to the dome. So this time I'm going with 110mm and I will use the first one as a display setup for a Dalek Periscope in our booth.

one thing I will say is that this is no small print, I am only using $5.50 in material which is plenty cheap enough, but the print time is 26 hours!

lets touch on that for a second, 3D printing is cheap, the original machine I was planning on getting was on sale for $399 and its quality was quite acceptable. I have printed off two sets of NSD slats and each one is just over a buck to make! The software I use shows me the weight of the part, time to make, and cost of print from what I Inputted for a spool price. Even thou I went for the more expensive dual head version of this printer, with all the Dalek parts I have made I have already saved well in excess of what I have paid for this unit plus I have made parts for common household use. I will never be without one of these machines again.

Unfortunately I am absolute rubbish at trying to design parts in CAD, I spent over 15 hours working on a new shawcraft eye and was unable to make anything useful, so at present I have relied heavily on help from other people, and I owe them a great Thank You! I will take a college evening course this fall when I have time and learn to draw up printable files. I just see a whole new world of possibilities for this unit and many many Dalek files I hope to post in the next year!
