About This File

NSD: Light Cage

By: Ultrastar

Intended for Dalek builders out there with the ability to 3D print models. This is a 3D model of the NSD Light Cage. This model was created with the purpose of 3D-Printing. However, with this being a 1:1 scale and 100% accurate model it can also be used as a reference for your own builds. Feel free to ask questions about this model as you see fit.

a zip file of all three would be nice......

anyone posting parts like this... please put a complete set up if possible.... sometimes with parts it can take over a month to get everything if you have more than 3 or 4 parts per construct

You can download them all at the same time to a folder on your desktop, no problem. Also, you did not even download the files, so why does it matter? I also have noticed that you have posted this same comment on several other creators uploads. Also of note; all parts are included with this file, so I don't understand your statement of "please put a complete set up if possible.... sometimes with parts it can take over a month to get everything if you have more than 3 or 4 parts per construct".

when i open the "download this file i see the separate pieces... that means i take up 3 slots in my download allotment.... if i wanted to set to abd build several of the items... lets say the light cage, and i wanted to add another multi part piece... i would have to wait... if i have to download more than 9 pieces.... in a month i cant... it would be nice if the files for 1 component construction were zipped together so i could fabricate parts quickly and easily.... and if i am making the request for 1 file containing all components... and not downloading it... its because i sometimes loose files, (forgetting to copy them to my work computer (which does not have internet or forgetting my memory stick and loosing it and not remembering and needing to redownload it......)

i would prefer to download 1 file containing all parts than the parts separately. and either not being able to download others... or the only Internet capable computer i have access to (which has an odd mouse on and will sometimes start downloading things twice) will suddenly declare that i need to get 3 files of the same part.... so if i don't download something its because i don't want to have to fart around several times over up to two months with certain sets of parts to get a complete item to print

It's the members' choice, how they decide to present their files. Admittedly a zip might be more useful in this instance, but this isn't something we enforce.

I you're going to make heavy use of the downloads resource, it may be worth considering a subscription.

An Active Membership Subscription or a 24 hour downloads subscription gives you unlimited access to the downloads, plus Active Membership adds in other extras too.

Hi

Can someone explain to me why this download has the decimals over to the right one space ?

Example the downloaded light cage top is 60.0 x 5.0 x 60.0 cm

The nsd book has 6.0 x .5 x 4.8

The 2005 Design are measured in cm.

The latest version of the 2005 Design plans are in mm. Please check you are using an up-to-date copy.

Having downloaded these files in the zip 2 of the files are named wrong. BASE wthread Inner (36mm) is actually the BASE wthread outer and vica versa. I also adapted your base with screwthread on the outer to make it shorter so that the base is now flush not sure how the bulb holder fits with this yet.

All the parts were printed as was but the base was too thick so i removed half of it to get the base flush with the bottom of the surround. i think i used a different set tho and not the ones with the nsd 3d dalek will check

These were the files i used including my cut version of the base

i put superglue on the top and base to stick the supports which were a nice tight fit. Just make sure it all fits before adding the glue. There was also a bulb holder but i didnt use this as i cut a hole in the dome and put in a twist fit holder which u can get here 2pcs 1157 Car Bulb Holder Lamp Socket Adapter LED Light Wiring Connector
