Dalek Thompson Submachine Gun 1.0.0

About This File

I drew these up so that my spotter could easily be in costume as a recognizable character that wasn't restrictive or limited movement. Basically they just need to wear 1930's style clothing and carry the Thompson and it's done. Oddly I didn't 3D print my own version - it was made by hand but I subsequently made these files for others to use.

You'll need:

6x Barrel Tines

2x Magazine Side 1

I have each of the magazine faces mirrored on my model but I can't remember why now.

1x each of everything else

I allowed 1.75mm pin holes for joining all the parts together.

Any questions please ask.

what printer would you use for this

I have no idea to be honest. I built my gun by hand.

@Peekaymac

Hi - Downloaded this to print for my son but cannot figure the scale for these.  The parts seem to be tiny.  What scale should be used for a full size gun?

I’ve never used a 3D printer. What information would be useful?

Just need to know the scale they are drawn at - for instance when I open the STL files for the Barrel Tine the part is 0.6 x 2.3 x 19.5 mm. All the other parts seem to be to the same scale to make a full gun at about 50mm long. Scaling it all up isn't difficult but knowing the scale would help - enev if you could say how long certain parts are on your full size one then a scale could be deduced.  Thanks

Ok - think I have worked it out - taking the 1.75mm assembly holes as a guide the STL files are at 1/10th scale - the holes are 0.175mm so I will work on enlarging 10 times for full size.

Glad it's sorted. I need access to my works computer to check this as everything is on there. It's possible that my software was set to cm as I did have that issue when I started using Inventor. I've since learned how to change the units to mm.

Thanks

I have printed a 1/4 scale to see how it goes and created gcode for full scale printing.  I did print the 1/10th scale as it looks like it id perfect for the CO figures scale.  Only two parts that would not print on my BIBO2 printer - the Barrel and the rear tine bracket as they wouldn't print at that scale with 0.06mm slices.
