      Dalek Two Zero

I have been neglecting Two Zero while working on Dalek 131, there are a few little jobs to do.
Various bits of paint and "metal" need touch up/repair, and the torn bumper.
I had a hemi missing for the whole event last weekend!
A wire is missing from the gunstick.
My claw is loose and weak.
My interior storage could do with increasing/organizing.
Blindspot cams need a filter for bright sunlight.
The £3 secondhand webcam I've used for 4 and a half years has finally given up, it barely worked 15% of the weekend.
If I can work out how to power the new working iris eye, I hope to hide an endoscope in it as my new eye camera.
I'd love to have a bigger and better quality camera, but that isn't compatible with the functioning iris.
I've spent over 260 hours operating Two Zero since 2020, I'm surprised it has survived this long, it has hit a LOT of potholes...!

Some folks have used Mecanum wheels, or Omni wheels for their Daleks.   For example:     The reason for using these wheels is that they allow you to drive a motorised Dalek with a degree of flexibility and direction control that is as close as you can get to the original, Fred Flintstone style, feet through the floor and rolling on castors as possible using a motorised system.   One of the challenges of making a Mecanum/Omni wheel system is that conventional motor control joysticks and electronics won't necessarily work with them. Wheelchair based systems drive 2 wheels. Mecanum / Omni systems are 4 wheel drive. Additionally, in order to get the more exotic manoeuvres, you have to drive front and rear wheels in opposite directions. Not something that is necessarily straightforward to do. This is all possible to implement using micro controllers or microcomputers.     Now there is a solution that may make implementing your own Mecanum or Omniwheel drive system a little easier. Active Robots have a mixer unit that will do all the cleverness for you.   https://www.active-robots.com/mecanum-mixer.html   You will still need motor controllers and additional electronics but this module may male life easier.   There is a data sheet here https://www.servocity.com/content/user_manuals/3109-0001-0001_v1.0_mecanum_mixer.min.pdf   The manufacturer is a US company called Go-Bilda https://www.gobilda.com/ Their page for the mixer is here https://www.gobilda.com/mecanum-mixer/   Their datasheet is here https://www.gobilda.com/content/user_manuals/3109-0001-0001_V3-0_Mecanum_Mixer.pdf   Hopefully this might be useful to someone.   Go-Bilda also seem to do some cool small robot building supplies which may be useful to scale Dalek builders.

Character Options Doctor Who Ruins of Skaro Collector Figure Set A re-release of the CO 5" line 'bomb mule' stylee Dalek from 'Destiny of the Daleks', this time accompanied by two Movellan figures. On this version the chest oval is painted black (body-coloured on the original release) and, apparently, now has the correct number of explosives bedecking the shoulders. I honestly couldn't say what the correct number of bombs is, but looking at the images of the toy available on-line, they are definitely arranged in different positions when compared to the original release. Only available on-line, the set is currently being advertised direct from CO for £39.95, at which price it qualifies for free delivery.
