Does anyone remember an early cgi render of a Dalek crawling out of its casing? It was around the time the 'Storm' design came out & the Dalek under the water.· 0 replies

Really impressed by the video of the mostly original 1966 Dalek auctioned by Bamfords in 2016 posted by @Mike Aubert in his build diary.· 0 replies

It's been in my mind to make mine RC. I've only just finished mine and haven't really had it out anywhere but I already I know it's not the easiest thing to get in and out of. Also I'm into photography so I really need to be on the outside for that. I'm wondering if I could have the best of both worlds by having it RC or having it controllable from the inside for the fun aspect as I couldn't possibly have all the functions working with RC, too much work to convert. Has anyone done RC and still kept "manual operation" when inside? -

A couple of hours today trying out vacuum forming with some spare sheets. 2mm HIPS proved to be strong when formed and so the many sheets I have of blue should be ok for the Mk1’s hemispheres. -

Here are also some more orthographic views of the Dalek! I forgot to include these! These better show off detail for the fender and portions of the shoulders I do wonder about weathering / edge wear, The Dalek casing as a "material" (AKA: Dalekanium) felt very corrosion proof to me but I had trouble originally while interpreting portions of the Dalek and trying to portray them texture wise, Would it make more sense for the Dalek casing to be more of a Colored metal ie: light saturated blue brushed metal? or is it some sort of "Painted" Metal similar to tanks? Plus how would either of those Wear and Weather? I didn't think it'd make much sense for Daleks to have oil streaking since they don't "feel" mechanical in the same way a tank would have subtle staining due to maintenance? Plus the only real portions on a Dalek that would wear from movement would've been the joints I think since they wouldn't be getting handled like props would (When trying to consider how wear and tear would appear on a "real" Dalek) Has there really been any thoughtful / fruitful discussion on Dalek weathering / wear in relation to attempting to depict a well-worn / "Battle-worn" Dalek? -

Amazing work! I think my only bit of criticism would be the neck, it looks a little...for lack of a better word, fragile? Sorry if that came across as harsh 😅 Everything else looks gorgeous, the painting and build overall is superb!
