Does anyone remember an early cgi render of a Dalek crawling out of its casing? It was around the time the 'Storm' design came out & the Dalek under the water.· 0 replies

Really impressed by the video of the mostly original 1966 Dalek auctioned by Bamfords in 2016 posted by @Mike Aubert in his build diary.· 0 replies

Will check the wiring etc when I get a chance this week. It’s worked fine for the past year etc but yesterday just didn’t want to play. To be honest on the fuse it didn’t look like it had blown but changing it made it work briefly so no idea. As for heating up too I don’t think so. The day was pretty warm but again he’s been out on warm events before with no problem. -

The weather made for great photos, but was hot work - I never wear jumpers, even in winter, so I didn't enjoy sticking it on each time I got out the Dalek...! -

Entry #7 (04/27/25) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dome pieces have been printed and assembled! The dowels mostly fit into the pieces, but a few had a hard time fitting, likely because of the slight variability of the dimensions of 3D printed parts, so I shrank the ones I modeled down a smidge and re-printed them. That said, because of how well everything fits generally speaking, I will be uploading the files for anyone to use. Still a lot left to do for the dome though. Gotta glue the pieces together, then go through the entire rigamarole of sanding, filling, and priming. Gonna be real particular about this though. I will not be happy until this dome is completely smooth. This ain't my first large-scale multi-part 3D printed object though, so I think it's something I can handle. Gotta do the same with the eyestalk pieces too! -
