Major milestone!   I took my bottom ring, measured it up and centred it on the stop of the shoulders. I then drew where I want my vertical neck struts to pierce into the shoulder top.    I drilled and filed out the holes. So the two struts you see here are piercing the plywood on the shoulder layer.      I then friction assembled the rest of the non-piercing struts and rings, just roughly for a photo op. I may drill and file a third locating strut, just to triangulate the neck. The neck is solidly attached laterally and gravity will do the rest of the work. There is a gap between the strut and the block, as expected, but nothing some epoxy won’t fix!   Super pleased!

The slates will need a wee bit of bondo at the Lower part of the slate. The fusion shows no edge but that little bit of bondo is a whole lot simpler then filling the steps in the slate and filling the back side. Once I bondo the lower edge and prime I’ll post. If it’s a viable solution, I’ll put them in the 3D print files as an alternative for others. 

Yeah, gutted I couldn't come to this one with you, but I was needed in a field - we got our arses handed to us by the Roundheads for 2 days in Wiltshire, but had a great time (despite all the pain!)

For lots of reasons this has been the most problematic convention I have been involved with.  Despite all of the problems we really managed to pull together and had a great time and I believe put on a good show for the attendees.  Huge thanks to all the brilliant people on our stand who all played a huge part in making it a success. Particular thanks to Simon for his incredible organisational skills and to Sam who still kept trying to get us information despite being very poorly and not being able to join us. Please see some of  the photos from the event.  I would just like to say one more thing. Commiting to go to an event should mean you are going and you understand you play a part in the team and helping the team. I totally understand that life has a habit of getting in the way and sometimes genuine problems prevent you being able to attend despite your commitment. I know I came very close to missing this one. Please remember how many people get let down when you drop out or leave early or even worse just don't turn up despite promising to do so. Here's to the next event and a more seamless experience.
