Spent the afternoon fixing and painting Two Zero's bumper - it looks less saggy· 0 replies

I have an ambitious project in mind for 1/60th scale models, which is what I estimate to be the scale for D&D.· 2 replies
(5ft being scaled down to 1 inch.)
I would like to know whether I should document this process if I make a custom design using the measurements on this site, as I would be using custom shoulders for the sake simplicity.
The below image (by MightyOtaKing on DeviantArt) should give a reasonable idea for how these custom shoulders would look:

Right, wreck is in the shed. I'm using the dome on my TV Invasion build, but will have to change the light covers and paint the eye silver.· 0 replies
I'm also taking the plunger off it.
Hope to be able to try and straighten Two Zero's bumper while it is in the trailer.

What does everyone end up doing with their rejected parts? I've got one and a half failed skirt sections that are all sorts of "dimensionally transcendent" that are just lying around rent-free in my garage. I'd feel bad about binning them outright, but they're no use to my current build as they are. Any suggestions?· 2 replies

Hello all! Over the past month, @Ryan Mccabe and myself have been working on a secret project that we were originally hoping to reveal at MCM London. However due to my part, Sadly wouldn't be ready in time so we are revealing all now! The Supreme dalek is a design most do love and I love dearly. Ryan came to me last year before Birmingham and had asked about such a project as he was unsure how to do the clamps and other such stuff. So we arranged it for me to build the upper half while he sorts the lower half. I was given the dome and the shoulders and came home after Birmingham with a dalek in waiting. Sadly waiting for a bit while my back got better and the weather eventually cleared up. Meanwhile in the background I would get bits and bobs sorted where I can such as the eye stalk, Gun and the dome lights! Thankfully with my back better and the weather clear. I had near 2 weeks of good weather and was finally able to cut out the wood that had been sitting there begging to be made into a dalek. Some good heavy MDF aha. In just a few short days all was cut and routed and chamfered. Then I had to work on the struts. The struts were a NIGHTMARE to try and figure out. They are not the same as a normal neck. But odd. The neck mesh spaces are wider than the normal ones (Perhaps so the operator could see more) But as for the block that goes front, sides and back. I could not work it out as to how they fit so flush. Until I looked at a promo pic and saw that a strut didnt line up properly. So I viewed them as being something that is seperate and not attached, a binned neck. But I did still have to attach it as I as going for a binless neck. Soon the blocks were printed seperatly into 3 bits with the discs being gapped. And they fit like a dream. Soon all was screwed and glued. All within a week. Next came up the 3d scanning. Cause honestly even I didnt know how to do the clampy strut bits. So I brought an old 18 inch figure which wasnt in great nic cheaply. But it had the bits I needed. From what I was aware of, It was pretty accurate later learned not fully but still pretty good. I used this and the plans and countless reference images to model out the panels and the struts at 1:1 scale and used the scan to line it up and best I could. I got the new shoulders and did an intense scan, and then started printing and honestly it all lined up pretty well. Not perfect but pretty good. Then came the day I went up to Ryans. We did a test fit before I brought it back. To finish up the printing and etc. Then a week later with all printed and mostly sanded down. I took off the final print on the day I went up to Ryans again. Where we did a fair bit of work getting the fender drilled, some of the bits sanded and the bobs sprayed and filled. Was a fun day (Not for my father however who had to drive back to pick up an important bag I had forgotten) Leaving the dalek with Ryan now I could rest. And am being sent some fantastic updates which I will update here as progress continues. Sadly although his first event wont be next to the 10th Doctor, His first even however shall be with another Doctor being Colin Baker alongside Davros himself, David Gooderson at Basildon Comic Con. Very excited to see this fella in action. It is amazing how much taller this dalek is compared to a normal one, But also how much more space there is inside him too! -
