Dome sander
By kevin pedley
This is a sanding pad that is concave on the sanding face - to match the radius of the original Shawcraft domes.
It allows finish sanding without loosing the profile.
After printing (recommend printing it on it's edge to get a better concave profile) strips of wet and dry are glued to the surface, and away you go.
Sand with a circular motion. It maintains the edge between the radius and the taper of the dome.

Drew' TDP 3D Model
By SketchTwitch
Hello everyone! I realized that there isn't a lot of files for the TDP build as it isn't as loved as the classic or 2005 Dalek models. Since I decided that I wanted to make the TDP as my first dalek build, I went ahead and modeled one of the plans from the forum. Attached is the zip file with all the parts individually, as well as a fully assembled model as STLs, at full size, though you can find the model on Onshape at: This link here incase you just want something specific.
I haven't printed anything myself yet besides the plunger at 50% just to test my supports, I will be printing a split version of the neck rings and the shoulder model for my build! If anyone has any questions or request let me know!

Egg cup dome light - high poly
By ansonjames
I was originally going to make a "Power of the Daleks" variant and so I created this file, I managed to pick up a few genuine egg cups and then decided to make a different Dalek altogether.

Evil of the Daleks - Emperor Dalek 5 Inch Model Kit
By audrey2
This is a model kit of the Emperor of the Daleks from Evil of the Daleks.
It should print in scale with the Character Options dalek figures. It should print with no supports required if you have a well-tuned printer printing at a high enough resolution.
Print 12 of the hemi_large, and 2 of the hemi_small, and you'll have everything needed for a Dalek civil war.

Exploded NSD dome for 3D printing
By cjorgensenmd
This in my NSD dome sliced into manageable files for 3D printing. Each section is still fairly large. you will need at least 200mm x 200mm print area, but once everything is printed, they can be attached to a lasercut base and then glued together for a very accurate NSD dome which will require very little finishing before a fiberglass mold is made. I have included both the raw solidworks files as well as the STLs in case anyone would like to make edits. I will edit this post once I have all 16 sections printed. I have two so far and they each took about 14 hours to finish, so this is a patient process.

Eye Ball mk3.stl
By pugwash
It's possible to print the main body (black) in about 11 hours at 0.2 resolution on an Ender 3 with very little support around the base. Infill of 20% is plenty. I've made this for a 30mm diameter eye stalk with a mm to spare.
This was intended as a one-off for my own Genesis Dalek but feel free to tinker.

Eye stalk elevation control mechanism
By Simchet
Mechanism to control elevation of eye stalk. Eye needs to be front heavy about pivot. At rear of eye tie on a piece of string, drill a hole through the mounting plate and thread the string through the hole. On the other (inside of Dalek side), screw on the outer tube with 3mm wood screws. Thread the string through outer tube, the inner tube and finally the plug. Adjust tension on the string by tying it to a nut (M6 is about the right size) which jams against the plug. T adjust tension so that when the handles are rotated into the slots, eye is level. Eye is elevated by rotating the handle and pulling down. Eye is dipped by rotating then raising the handle and letting the weight of the eye let itself down.

Ferrain - Dome Rotation Involute Spur Gear V5
By Ferrain
Dome Rotation Involute Spur Gear V5
I set up a virtual Windows 7 machine, with a trial copy of Sketchup Pro & downloaded the actual DXF files from the Involute Spur Gear Builder & after some work Saturday morning produced a totally new gear configuration.
Sunday
I completed two 45 degree sections successfully - The 45 degree files are included but were cut into sections with Sketchup without Netfabb.
I completed three 90 degree sections (with only one aborted print) but again were cut into sections with Sketchup without Netfabb
These NEW 90 Degree files are based on the original DXF files\Sketchup model I used, only with holes removed\repositioned locking lugs & sliced via Netfabb.
Addendum
The prints all fitted tightly against my Rockler\Lazy Susan Bearing, but possibly due to mix & matching of 45 & 90 degree sections or not using Netfabb as a slicing tool, I found I had a small gap, please adjust\check the Internal diameter & I have included the Sketchup file with a complete ring, the exploded 45 degree sections & the cog, which you can tailor for your own motor\drive configuration.
Height has been increased to 10mm - Each section typically took 75 minutes to print at a medium resolution settings on a Makerbot Replicator 2 at 8mm height.

Former - NSD gun rods
By ddoherty958
A former for the NSD gun bars. To use it after printing, I marked out the place that needed the angle (25mm from end) and used a hammer on the edge of a table to slowly bend them. I use the former to check I'm correct. The slanted side is 25mm long too, so extra help!
I might redesign it to make it easier to use.

Full Scale Shawcraft Dalek Dome
By Chris Moliere
My class just gave us Fusion 360 accounts, so I whipped this up in my spare time. This is based on the most recent Shawcraft Dalek plans, as of upload. Since my printer doesn't have the proper build volume to accommodate the entire dome, it has been split into sixths. Enjoy!

I'm in my late 60's. I live in Australia and have always enjoyed Doctor Who from the very first episode aired here around 1965 when I was 9 years old. Thought how amazing it would be to have a Dalek but had no idea how or where to even begin UNTIL I came across this site. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to at least be able to start on a Dalek build and will detail my progress as it goes along.

I'm in my 50s and have since I was a boy watching Dr Who in the 70s always dreamed of making a Dalek for fun, now I have the time and resources, along with your forum's help it's time to live that dream.
I have watched some of the members videos, and I am very impressed with what I have seen.
Long live the Who verse.
I will document my progress and share any innovations I make

Great set of models that printed and fitted together really easily. Can't comment on accuracy as I'm no expert but very happy with the result
