    NSD Light Cage Surrounds

Here I have designed the surround to the Moflash lenses, I have to admit its fairly new and I may need to adjust the base to fit the lens, I suppose it depends on the lens?

Have a look, make a comment for improvement etc. Thanks.

    Reworked NSD moflash cage.

I downloaded the zip file from  Ultrastar's downloads and noticed that 2 of the files were labelled wrong so corrected that with these files here, I also noticed when i had printed the base that when screwed on tight there was at least 5 mm gap around the bottom so i resliced the file and now it has a nice flat base i then drilled 2 holes through the base and bolted onto the dome.. I bought 2 twist fit bulb holders as u can see in the pics, this fits through the dome nicely and fits inside the mosflash lense very snug, to change the bulb just unscrew the cage.

  3. More information about "NSD Dome Detail Kit"

    Free

    NSD Dome Detail Kit

This is a set of tools I made to help with detailing the dome. Some are attachments for a Dremel router base. These are useful for working on wooden domes. Others are more generic and can be used on any dome. All tools are shaped to fit along either the top curved part of the dome or the bottom cone part. Raft and support required where noted. They are numbered on this image and described below. The wrench is not included.:

1 Drill Guide - Guides drill bit perpendicular to dome surface
2 Dome Protractor - Marks out 45 degree angles
3 Dome Ruler * - Measures cm along the surface of the dome and from a center point
4 Long Longitude Arm * - Guide for longitudinal cuts, used with Base Adapter (7) maximum span
5 Short Longitude Arm * - Guide for longitudinal cuts, used with Base Adapter (7) span for lower dome cuts only
6 Latitude Arm * - Guide for latitudinal cut (back half of dome), used with Base Adapter (7)
7 Base Adapter * - Adapter which fits the Dremel router base. Key attaches to Longitude and Latitude Arms (4,5,6) or freehand
8 Angle Guide Bottom - Guides cuts on the cone portion of the dome, used with Angle Guide Top (9)
9 Angle Guide Top - Guides cuts on the cone portion of the dome, used with Angle Guide Bottom (8)
10 Cone Ruler * - Measures and marks the cone portion of the dome
11 Port Template - Marks the eyestalk port
12 Front Indent * - Marks the front indents
13 & 14 Rear indent * - Marks the rear indents, pieces glue together at chamfer angle

    * raft and full support required

The Drill Guide, Dome Protractor, Dome and Cone Rulers, Port and Indent templates are pretty obvious how they work

The Base Adapter attaches to a Dremel router base and gives it a solid contact to the dome. It attaches to the router base with two rectangular keys and a pair of bolts/wingnuts. It can be used freehand or with one of the Arms which attach to it with a key block.

The Angle Guide pieces are joined by two 3/16" x 16" metal rods. The bottom mounts to a board and the Dremel router base rides the rods at the proper angle to fit against the cone portion of the dome. Like this:

    NSD EyeStalk Disks

Here's my way of giving back to Project Dalek. There are 3 disk in the Set, each different sizes. Each are scaled from the Plans. This is my First 3d Printed Model, If this goes well i might make some more 3d prints. When I made these there is a flat bottom to them so, you may want to cast them in fiberglass molds or something. to make them hollow/curved in the inside. I wish you the best of luck of building your Dalek!

    NSD Supreme Parts

This is a set of 3d printable parts for the NSD Supreme, using a combination of photos of the original prop from episodes and events, @acrylikhan and @bec weir's build diaries, and some of the dimensions listed in the plans. It was very difficult, given that the plans only give a rough approximation of the measurements. The parts here are the the bases for the front and side clamps, the clamps themselves, the neck furniture, and the light plinths. Enjoy!

    MK1/2/3 & Movie 1/2 Stalk/Pivot Set!

So you have a budget , or don't know how to taper wood.
A 18mm hole has been added so that you can use them, if you just used the eyestalk without a 18mm rod it would break from the weight.
So  I used the Mk1 Dalek Blueprints to Make these models.
IF You have Downloaded any of my Prints please Pm if I have added or edited it, so i can send you the newest copy.

    NSD Cowl

This is the most accurate-looking I could get going by the dimensions in the official plans back in 2017 (which don't seem to me to quite work exactly as specified?) Fits fine on my Dalek Kevin's dome (bumpy as it is). Of course my version of 'exactly according to the plans' may well differ from your version of 'exactly according to the plans', but that's Dalek-building for you...
This has been around for a while so I know at least one other builder in the world has used it successfully.
I printed in PLA for toughness and lack of distortion, at 0.2mm layer height. Just barely squeezes into an UpBox+.

So here my version of a mk1 gun rod, kinda like a clear acrylic one. You can print it colored or clear filler. The Rings, Rods, Octagons are separate pieces, so you can put it together easily and with the octagons not with it and giving you a hard time trying to paint it.  The Gun Cylinder has pre cut holes for the rods to fit in.

It should print in scale with the Character Options dalek figures. It should print with no supports required if you have a well-tuned printer printing at a high enough resolution.
Print 12 of the hemi_large, and 2 of the hemi_small, and you'll have everything needed for a Dalek civil war.

    NSD Light Cage with Thread

NB: Single zipped folder or 6 individual files - your choice

So I wanted a light cage that did not show screws when assembled and came up with this solution.

It's essentially a remix of @Ultrastar Light cage with the following modifications.
Added thread to the lower part of the cage plus the inner part of the threaded piece to be attached to the Dalek head The hole for the base and top is slightly larger to make screwing around the cage easier no change to his support
In this file I also included the surround part I did for my bulb using a trailer light. The spring from the light lid holds it in place to the lower part so no attachments required.
I used a Ping Pong bulb inside the moflash. so you may want to use some hot glue to secure that part.
The lower part has indentation to allow for my trailer base, if you don't need that, that part is low enough that should not be seen in your cage.

    Enjoy

P.S. You will need to rotate a few pieces for print. support needed for some parts depending on your printer calibration.
