NSD Moflash Cage For 3D Printing
By Ferrain
Second published attempt at anything like this, for 3D printing so please be gentle.
NOTE The screenshots show some pieces that have been printed unsanded & untrimmed & they also show cages V1.99 & V2 (The only part that is constant in both is the top ring), from the test fitting a roll back to V1.99 for the supports & base may be required for a deeper recess of 3mm.
The Top ring takes about 30 - 40 minutes on a Replicator 2 at Highest Quality settings.
A support piece takes about 32 minutes on a Replicator 2 at Highest Quality settings, these could be multiplied up to the required 8 for the output file.
The base will take about 3 hours on a Replicator 2 at Highest Quality settings.
It is suggested that a hot pin be pressed through the build material using pliers & suitable heat source for each support at the top & bottom rings after gluing for additional strength.
Despite various efforts a one piece print has not gone smoothly so still a kit of 6 parts not including Moflash lens, if a one piece is successfully produced, the file will be added as a compliment.
Constructive feedback welcome.

NSD Eyeball
By Slythenperior
This is my version of the 3d printable 2005 Dalek eyeball. The thing that makes this different is the screw function allowing the front of the eye and the back to screw together. This is in case something goes wrong with the wiring and the light stops working. Just thought it would make things easier for everyone. Enjoy

Complete NSD Scale Model
By audrey2
All the parts for a scale NSD that can be printed and assembled.
The parts are designed to go together at a 1/5 scale, and while it may work in other scales I haven't tried them yet, so that's up to you to play around with.
You can see how I printed mine and put mine together when printed on a Replicator 2 here.

NSD Neck Blocks - Kresty's version
By Kresty
NSD Neck Blocks - Sketchup files are in the Thingiverse thing at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:727027 since PDF doesn't seem to like them in the post, in case you need to modify the hole.
I think they turned out fairly nice. They have fatter backs than fronts and match the PDF as well as I could. I had trouble finding the exact dimensions for the corner rounding or the position of the bearing though, but I'm happy with it. The hollow version is intended to snap a 14mm bearing into it, however I'm not sure it'll fit (I don't have one to try). Looking at it, it seems like the edges come in a little much, but it seems to align with both the PDF and photos I found, so...
Now I just need to print another 23 of them!

Cdngoose 2008 Davros
By cdngoose
Included in this package of STL files are all the parts I have printed off for my 2008 Davro's panel. Also included are the measured blueprints for each piece. This way you can ensure the parts are exact or re-size them to fit your panels. Please look to Cdngoose 2008 Davro's build for information on how they were created and used. All of these files were created for me by Phillip McNulty, I owe him a Huge Thank You for not only making me these STL files from his CAD drawings but for allowing me to share them with all PDF members.
All files were printed in PLA filament as well as the rubber boots were also printed in flexible PLA
Hope these help others in their building process. Though they do not make exact reproductions of the TV show parts I believe they are more than close enough that when fans take pictures while standing beside Davro's they will be very pleased!

TDP Eyestalk
By cdngoose
This file was produced by Mr_Tesla, and can also be found on Thingverse. He has included the rights for anyone to use this file in any manner they deem fit. I have used this as a possible replacement for dreadnaughts eye and also as a display booth piece acting as a Dalek Periscope as seen on Asylum of the Daleks

Imperial Dalek Plunger v002
By Aaron J Climas
Thanks to Shane for helping me out with dimensions on this! Dalek Candi has an Imperial plunger that has original heritage. He was kind enough to measure up his plunger for me and I have build a 3D model of it based on those dimensions.
To my eyes, the front feels too big, however I haven't seen an original in hand, or printed this one yet. So I can't judge.
The rear section I have deliberate made quite soft, as the original casts are, and I feel doing a perfect computer set of straight angles wouldn't give the right feeling to the whole thing. There are only 120 verts around the circumference, I could potentially increase that if anyone wanted to make a more detailed print than that. Most people, I imagine will be using relatively low end printers that will require cleanup anyway, so I don't think it should be a problem.
Potentially if required I could split it to a front and back, so the front dish/ surround could be printed, then the rear 'tower' printed and then joined. In my experience prints often warp somewhere and joining like that often ends up with parts that don't join well.
It was created in Autodesk Maya, and the front ring should be about 120mm to give sense of overall scale. Please give me a shout and show images if you print it, as I would love to see the results.
All the best,
Aaron

NSD eye pivot
By cjorgensenmd
For use with 3/4" OD rod for the eyestalk and standard skateboard bearings to be inserted on the sides. The two holes on the rear are for attaching control wires to go to a windshield wiper motor for RC control of up/down movement. Optionally combine with my 3D printed eye pivot holder.

Magic 8 Ball Inner Sleeve

This will slide into a magic 8 ball and sit against the inner ring, and the outer hole.
Should keep it nice and sturdy, and allow your alu tube to slide right though.

Solidworks NSD
By cjorgensenmd
I have uploaded my NSD modeled entirely in Solidworks. This should help others quite a bit if they need any parts 3d printed. Also includes fully functional RC Dome assembly, so no more guesswork. Solidworks is CAD software, so all dimensions are included.

NDP Eye
By threegringos
Here are the eye model files that I created for Orin - my NDP dalek build. All measurements were taken directly from the PDF plans.
You need to print one Front, one Rear, and eight Fins for the eye, and five Rings for the eye-stalk. I printed everything using 1.5mm wall thickness and 15% fill.
Everything was assembled with friction fit. No glue or screws. The fins fit tightly into the body of the eye and hold everything together.
When assembling, I started by inserting the rear of all the fins into the rearmost point of the eye body, then folded them inward one at a time. This works nicely because you can easily access any electronics that you install into the eye. Just open out the fins from the front until the eye front drops out.

Imperial Dalek 5 inch Model Kit
By audrey2
To make up for the fact that there is no sufficiently accurate 5 inch model Imperial Dalek, here is a small 3D printable model kit to create your own.
This was modelled in Blender, with FDM style 3D printing in mind (although if anyone makes a resin one, please let me know, I'd love to see how it turns out), and the parts have a tolerance of around 0.15mm to fit together.
Only the plunger and the shoulders require printing with support material, and I have provided a visual instruction booklet showing the basics of how to assemble the model.

comet_dalek.zip
By tobor2288
The dome on the comet kit is not very accurate. Here are replacment domes, as well as mid sections and appendages.
There are TV and Movie domes. One of the mid sections is designed for slats, the other without. There are appendages for the movie daleks only.
These files are not really designed for home FDM printers. If you have a SLA resin printer, they should work.
I got the parts printed by Shapeways and I.Materialise in various materials.
Note: The comet daleks are not 8th scale as stated on the box. They are about 92% of 8th scale.
These files also work for the Product Enterprise Infra red movie daleks, which are the same scale. There are two of them in the attached pictures.

I'm in my late 60's. I live in Australia and have always enjoyed Doctor Who from the very first episode aired here around 1965 when I was 9 years old. Thought how amazing it would be to have a Dalek but had no idea how or where to even begin UNTIL I came across this site. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to at least be able to start on a Dalek build and will detail my progress as it goes along.

I'm in my 50s and have since I was a boy watching Dr Who in the 70s always dreamed of making a Dalek for fun, now I have the time and resources, along with your forum's help it's time to live that dream.
I have watched some of the members videos, and I am very impressed with what I have seen.
Long live the Who verse.
I will document my progress and share any innovations I make
